NEWS FLASH: 2 Lots Garden Lots Secured

Equal Start in conjunction with Be Change and Oak Ridge Elementary School has secured two lots for use in developing an inner-city garden.  A wonderful land owner learned of our desires and has given us unprecedented use of both locations.

The name to be determined,(I am leaning toward Be Green Garden), will be branded and launched in early September after the kids return from summer break.

The two locations, both within 100 yards of the school, will serve as the grounds where the kids will plant vegatables that will be raised organically.  Their efforts will culminate with veggies for their families, with left overs being sold at a local farmers market as a student business venture.

The garden is sustainable and will teach the kids healthy steps in eating and living a more active and healthy life.

Jason Harper, Equal Start Founder, stated, "In addition to our running groups, the garden will be an additional after school healthy option."
