I am still trying to wrap my mind. Watching Ultra Runner Ray Sanchez throttling himself on the front line of punishment was exhilarating. Running in tempatures that reached more than 140 degrees on the pavement, Ray, along with Be Change Pacers/Crew finished in 35 hour at Badwater 2009.
Badwater is notably the most excruciating running-road race on the planet. Ultra greats like David Goggins, Dean Karnazes, and Charlie Engle represent every year. This year, Goggins was absent recovering from a heart procedure. Regardless, I met some new heroes.
In addition to Ray Sanchez, we met a slew of people who loved the idea of Be Change and commented on the power of a cause driven race.
Here are some folks we can’t wait to connect with:
Orlando.
Jason.
National Geographic
Charlie.
Dean.
I can’t wait to connect with Shannon Faraf-Griefer.

Shannon, the founder of Moeben, was running Badwater and cranking out the miles. Every time we passed her, she smiled. It occurred to me, that she, like Ray were there for a reason.
I am challenged. My mind is spinning.
Ray, there is more to come.
Ray, the best has yet to come
Thanks for making my first Badwater exposure a life-changing event.
